Baba Booey and Jon Hein host For What It’s Worth

Gary “Baba Booey” Dell’Abate, is putting his obsession for collecting vinyl records, autographed baseballs, cartoon cells and photos, which fill every nook and cranny of his home, to use in a new television series on VH1 Classic.

“For What It’s Worth” will make its debut at 10 p.m. Thursday, with Dell’Abate co-hosting the half-hour show with Howard Stern Show’s Jon Hein, himself an avid collector of pop culture memorabilia.

For What It's WorthThe show is VH1 Classic’s answer to Antiques Roadshow and Storage Wars. “The whole point is we’re collectors and hoarders,” Dell’Abate said.

Dell’Abate taped six episodes of the show last summer while he was on vacation from Stern. He spent part of each show traveling around the country with Hein in search of one-of-a-kind collections of music or pop culture history.

“I hope to do a second season,” Dell’Abate said. “I hope to get even more of the lunatic collectors coming out of the woodwork.”

  1. Seeing howard sterns lapdog Gary DellAbate prance around the nation talking about things he collects, sounds like something Dante should have referenced as far as being some level of hell as yet undefined. I wish Gary would collect and hoard something of interest once in a while. I do not know which one is more boring Gary or the things he collects. Perhaps it is a tie requiring a photo finish. I advised Gary not to do this show but as usual I was ignored. If it lasts one season I will be shocked.
