Howard’s Got Talent premieres tonight!

The season premieres tonight, May 14 at 8:00 pm/ET on the NBC network. Get a first look at Americas Judge Howard Stern on the upcoming talent competition above!

America’s Got Talent was the #1 non-sports telecast on ABC, CBS, NBC or Fox in total viewers every week it aired over the summer of 2011, making it the #1 summer series in total viewers for a sixth year in a row. Last summer, “America’s Got Talent” delivered its highest-rated cycle ever.

Star magazine claims America’s Got Talent judges “at each other’s throat”

Howard Stern is about to make his debut on “America’s Got Talent” but according to Star magazine, there’s trouble behind the scenes.

“Sources” for the tabloid claim Stern and fellow judge Howie Mandel are “at each other’s throat, feuding over the limelight.”

One supposed Star “source” explains, “Howie is a huge diva, and his feathers have been ruffled ever since Howard came into the picture.”

“Howie is irked at how Howard has taken over,” continues the “source,” adding, “Howard is greeted with rock star-like adulations at auditions, and it leaves Howie feeling unappreciated.”

The tab’s insider says Mandel is particularly miffed over the show being relocated to New York to accommodate Stern, and that he’s annoyed Stern “acts like he doesn’t even care about the show.”

According to the “source,” the “America’s Got Talent” set has “turned into a war zone.”

Stern’s New America’s Got Talent Promo

The first footage of outspoken radio host Stern in his new capacity as “AGT” judge has emerged, and the self-proclaimed King of All Media makes it clear that he won’t be coddling any contestants if they don’t make the grade.

“I’ve gotta stick to my guns,” Stern asserts in the clip. “You gotta get the very best talent. I don’t want to go buzzer-crazy, but I’m going to be a strict judge, and I’ve gotta stick to that.”

Howard Stern makes $15 Million on America’s Got Talent

Britney Spears will own the highest paycheck of any reality celebrity judge on television. The singer agreed to a $15 million dollar contract to perform and the “X-Factor.”

However, Spears isn’t the only one the networks offer big bucks. Howard Stern will make nearly $15 million while on “America’s Got Talent” this summer and “The Voice” gang sing all the way to the bank on million dollar pay rolls.

Jennifer Lopez comes close with her “American Idol” paycheck. Comrade Steven Tyler reportedly makes millions as well, however, not nearly enough as Lopez.

Howard consoles child on set of AGT

Howie Mandel promises that viewers will see a whole new side of Howard Stern on NBC’s America’s Got Talent.

At the network’s summer press event in Pasadena, the Got Talent judge said everybody involved with the hit reality competition series has been “surprised” by the radio host’s dedication to finding a new talent. “I was fascinated with how polarizing the reactions have been [to Stern’s hire],” Mandel told reporters Wednesday. “He’s so passionate about finding a star… he’s compassionate, he’s also emotional … he’s serious … he has good constructive criticism.”

Mandel then told an anecdote about Stern judging a 7-year-old “adorable child” who auditioned as a rapper. “The kid didn’t have talent beyond being adorable,” Mandel recalled. “Howard, being who he is, [quickly] hit his buzzer. The reaction to this was heartbreaking. [The child] heaved and collapsed in tears. Howard turned to me, like, ‘Oh my god, this is not what I signed up for.’ Howard got right up, and got right up on stage, and he held the child and consoled him, saying ‘I’m so sorry.’”

“Everyone thinks he’s going to come in really outrageous,” added fellow judge Sharon Osbourne. “He comes to us with great experience, especially about music.”

Stern’s upcoming TV appearances

With about six weeks until Howard Stern makes his primetime network debut on NBC reality show “America’s Got Talent” on May 14, the shock jock announced he’s ramping up the publicity in the coming days. He will be visiting “The View,” “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” and the “Today” show in an effort to promote the talent show, according to a tweet from his satellite radio show’s Twitter account.

Conspicuously missing from this list: “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.” Though given how vocal Stern has been about his dislike for Leno, it’s unlikely, which is unfortunate for everyone who loves trainwreck TV.

Stern has been traveling the country over the last few weeks for auditions; NBC wound up moving the competition series from Los Angeles to New York so Stern could take part while also working on his NYC-based radio program.

Sharon Osbourne on Working with Howard Stern

In case you’ve been under a rock, Piers Morgan has been X’d out and Howard Stern has joined the judges table on America’s Got Talent.

“This man is going to help this show go to a whole new level,” said Howie Mandel.

“Oh don’t don’t take it too far,” added Sharon Osbourne.

It’s a job Stern takes very seriously.

“I take notes,” Stern pointed out.

Actually they all take judging very seriously.

“Do you know how serious we are about judging that even when we go back to our hotel room at night we’re going over the contestants and re-judging them again in our mind,” Osbourne explained.

“We are taking it so seriously, particularly you. He will call the producer and say he thinks he made a mistake in judging and then beg, beg to have this act back to have another chance and fly them to another location so that we can see them again,” Mandel said about Stern.

“They’re talking about this band we saw and I went home and had the pang, this guilt that I had sent them away,” Stern explained.

Of course, each has that certain something they’re looking for.

“Individuality,” Osbourne said.

“It’s simple, you want to see them again and you have to believe that America will want to see them again, it’s that simple,” Stern added.

And then there’s a certain something between the three of them, a chemistry, or closeness unlike what you’ve ever seen before on the show.

“How close are we, as judges, that Howie would lay down on a table and Sharon and I would remove his blackhead from his ear,” Stern said.

“If you can’t trust your fellow judges who can you trust,” added Mandel.

I guess we’ll just have to watch to see what acts on stage are more bizarre than that.

The new season of America’s Got Talent starts May 14th at 7 p.m.
