Stormy Daniels told Bubba the Love Sponge that Donald Trump “was the best in bed”

Former Howard 101 host Bubba The Love Sponge is back on the air in Florida. The Bubba the Love Sponge show airs on AM 820 News and 98.3 FM Pinellas County.

Bubba was recently featured on CNN for a 2007 interview he did with Stormy Daniels where Stormy discusses her alleged relationship with Donald Trump.

From CNN:

Bubba the Love Sponge Clem, known as Todd Clem before he legally changed his name in 1999, played portions of the interview on his radio show Friday and Monday, in which Daniels was asked to write down the names of famous men she had slept with. Clem says the first name on that list was Donald Trump. Although neither Daniels nor the host says Trump’s name in the 2007 audio, she can be heard describing key details that match the description of her alleged affair with Trump.

Clem said on his nationally syndicated radio program that Daniels was talking about Trump, and later verified the same information to CNN. CNN independently corroborated the story with another person who was in Clem’s studio that day, who would speak only on the condition of anonymity. That person also said Donald Trump’s name was the first on Daniels’ list.

Clem told his listeners in January that he had removed the appearance from his archives, the website Bubba Army Radio, because he didn’t want any unwanted attention in advance of an upcoming federal court case with Nielsen over alleged ratings tampering by Clem.

“Be careful on this one. Do not say a word,” Clem can be heard saying, cautioning Daniels and his co-hosts to not speak the man’s name.

Daniels, when asked how long the affair took place, added that it lasted “less than a year.”

Later in the show, Clem plays short clips of Daniels responding to questions over the alleged affair. Daniels said the tryst took place in “Nevada, but not Vegas.” At the prodding of the radio hosts she says it was in Lake Tahoe, which is where Daniels first encountered Trump at a celebrity golf tournament in 2006.

She said she found it “horribly embarrassing” that this person was the best in bed of the three people on her list and added that the person contacted her “twice a month.”

She later added that there was no money exchanged.

“There was no exchange of money,” said Clifford. “I’m sure if he had felt the need to graciously help me I would have put it in my purse.”

Bubba the Love Sponge declined to be interviewed for the CNN story, citing a pending civil matter, but provided CNN with a statement:

“This interview happened in May 2007. I only asked the questions. Stormy answered them. I wish her and our President nothing but the very best. I don’t think it’s that big of a deal. We need to stop worrying about the past and focus on the future. President Trump is our President, regardless of who he slept with 12 plus years ago. The media and haters need to get over it,” said Bubba.

This would be the earliest known instance of Stormy publicly discussing the alleged affair.

Howard talks to Bubba The Love Sponge about the Hulk Tape

“I want to say, I am so happy that Hulk Hogan won the case against Gawker, and I’ll tell you why,” he said.

As an advocate for free speech — well, mostly just his free speech, he admitted — Stern said he thinks Gawker’s attempt to make the case about free speech is “a total load of” words unfit to print.

“I truly believe that you can’t just say this is a free speech issue,” he said. “This is the same as Erin Andrews being in a hotel room and some guy drilling a hole in the wall. You can’t take a tape of somebody that is illegally made and just post it on your website and say this is news and free speech.

“It isn’t. It’s an invasion of privacy.”

Most disturbing to Stern, he conceded on air, was that it could have been him on that tape. More than once, Clem had propositioned Stern to have sex with his now ex-wife, just like he’d done to Hulk Hogan.

But Stern just thought he was kidding.

“Oh, I would die if there was a sex tape of me,” Stern said. “I would be humiliated.”

bubba the love spongeBubba said he would still would like to be Hulks friend.

“I did something that I’ll pay for for the rest of my life. I don’t necessarily know that I would expect him to ever forgive me and what I did, but I own it, I did it. It’s tough to know that I made that decision in life, for whatever reason and there’s a lot more than I can’t talk about.”

Bubba said he has some things to bring up too. He thinks Howard has been angry with him, refusing to respond to his emails. Howard said he really was not. Bubba continued saying his crew has begged to come back to SiriusXM and Howard has said no to Bubba being on Howard 101.

Hulk Hogan: ‘Bubba you’re not filming this are you?’

hulk_hogan_2012Hulk Hogan was back in a Florida court Tuesday, taking questions on the witness stand to support his privacy lawsuit against Gawker for posting an excerpt of a sex tape involving him and Heather Clem.

Gawker is attempting to establish Hogan invited attention toward supposedly private matters and hardly objected when the media followed suit. Hogan says he “didn’t have a problem” with TMZ writing about the sex tape despite at least one colleague in the wrestling industry who was telling him at the time that it was beneath him to give them an interview. Hogan also discussed a radio interview with Bubba the Love Sponge where the length of his penis came up.

Hogan said that when he said it was 10 inches, that was for his Hulk character. “Terry Bollea’s penis is not 10 inches.”

Hogan also had to address his interview with Howard Stern. Hogan says that in going on Stern’s show, “You have to take the good with the bad,” and when the sex tape came up, he wasn’t happy, but “I was on an entertainment show and I had to be an entertainer, so I just kept going.”

Sullivan asks, “At no point did you tell Stern this was an invasion of privacy?”

“I didn’t want to bring Terry Bollea the man into the conversation,” Hogan answered, explaining that he understands that although he was there on Stern’s show to promote a wrestling event, he understood the host would be touching on other issues. “That’s standard protocol,” he says. “The publicist would address it with Howard. I wouldn’t.”

Hogan testified that when he and Heather eventually did have sex, Bubba the Love Sponge handed Hogan a condom. Hogan said he felt something was wrong, and he asked if they were being taped. He said Bubba denied it.

“It was so weird and so crazy, my gut was telling me that this was off, this was wrong” Hogan testified. “From the feeling that I had, I said, ‘Bubba you’re not filming this are you?’…he lashed into me.”

He described Bubba the Love Sponge– the character– as “arrogant, cocky, nasty to people on the phone.” However he said, for a long time, the person behind the radio personality a close friend.

“We became so close that we started training every day together,” he said.

Bubba the Love Sponge returns to Tampa Radio

bubba the love spongeBubba the Love Sponge Clem returned to the Tampa Bay airwaves Monday morning — on WHFS-98.7 FM, as was expected. He and his on-air cohorts spent their first few hours hurling taunts and insults at his morning show rival, Mike “Cowhead” Calta, who took Clem’s spot at WHPT-102.5 “The Bone.”

The two personalities, who characterize themselves as bitter enemies, spoke by phone on the air. According to Clem, Calta said on the radio that he would punch Clem in his “fat face.”

Bubba confirmed some things that have been widely reported, and offered a few further details. Cox fired him (not his words) in August and paid him his “seven-figure” compensation to stay off the air until Dec. 31.

Hulk Hogan forgives Bubba The Love Sponge

hulk_hogan_2012Hulk Hogan has endured plenty of physical trauma in his many years as a professional wrestler, but it was the dishonesty of Bubba The Love Sponge who allegedly leaked a tape of Hogan having sex with his wife that hurt the most.

“It was a tough situation. It’s probably the hardest I’ve ever been kicked, bar none,” Hogan said of the sex tape leak. “But at the end of the day it’s all about choices.”

Despite the situation, Hulk refrained from speaking ill of Bubba at all, explaining that he’d prefer to live in the present and accept the situation as playing a larger role in his destiny.

“It is what it is,” he said. “At the end of the day, the pros are handling it, and no matter what it is, I understand people. And for whatever reason, I forgive him. I forgive myself for the choices we’ve made. I can’t hate, brother. That’s not my deal. Can’t do it.”

Bubba the Love Sponge accused of racist remarks in leaked audio?

Bubba the Love Sponge Clem has denied recent accusations that he is a racist after an audio clip of him using the n-word surfaced on YouTube.

According to Clem, an ex-employee stole federally trademarked intellectual property- outtakes from studio recordings that he says were meant to be comical- and posted them to make him look like a racist.

The YouTube video shows nothing but a black screen as a vulgar version of a Vermont Teddy Bear advertisement (voiced by Clem) plays on. The advertisement says the bears are a “fun and original way” for men to express themselves to their loved ones on Valentines Day.

The “Jungle Fever Bear”, says the ad, is to be given when “your bitch” has sex with “n***ers”.

After emphasizing the originality of the teddy bears as a gift- calling them a “…creative and personal alternative to flowers…”- Clem’s voice goes on to mention a woman and a “black n***ers” engaging in rough sex.

Tampa News reached out to Clem Thursday night and he provided the following statement:

bubba the love sponge“I’m totally disgusted. This is complete bullshit. I have an ex-employee who is trying to cover his own ass from illegal things he’s done. He’s stolen my federally trademarked intellectual property from years of outtakes where me and my African American friends were cutting up and having fun in the studio in private.

I am the furthest thing from a racist. Everyone knows that. I make fun of everyone, and 9 times out of 10, I’m the brunt of the joke.”

Brent Hatley quits Bubba The Love Sponge Show

Bubba The Love Sponge’s producer and co-host Brent Hatley has quit “citing a desire to move on to greater challenges,” reports The Tampa Bay Times.

bubba army radio“I’m not mad and I’m not upset with Bubba,” Hatley told the paper. “He’s a friend. I just want to do what’s right for me.”

Bubba made the on-air announcement last week. “Brent feels he needs to branch out … I kinda got blindsided by it,” Bubba said on the air. “But he’s got an open door to always come back. There’s not a low road to be taken here.”

Shannon Burke has been given a one-week “tryout” as Brent’s on-air replacement. “Burke, who developed an image as a tough-talking, motorcycle riding host in Orlando, was arrested there in 2009 for an incident in which he shot his wife’s dog and the bullet grazed his wife’s head. He served more than six months in jail and was fired by Clear Channel, working at a few AM stations in Orlando before joining RadioIO,” notes The TB Times.

Verdict In: Bubba the Love Sponge Not Guilty

After deliberating for just 3 hours, jurors in the defamation trial found Bubba the Love Sponge Clem not guilty on all counts. Last week the judge had thrown out five charges against Bubba in the lawsuit.

bubba the love spongeAfter the verdict, MJ’s attorneys quickly left the courtroom. MJ had nothing left to say as he exited while his wife Michelle appeared to have been crying.

“We believe in the juror system, and we’re disappointed,” said Jonathon Ellis, one of MJ’s attorneys.

Across the courtroom, Bubba the Love Sponge’s team exchanged hugs, patted each other on the back and posed for a pictures.

“If you can’t take the heat, then get the hell out of the kitchen,” Clem said after the courtroom cleared.

Howard Stern voices his support for Bubba

It seems like now both Bubba and Tampa host MJ want their case to go to a mistrial, or do they?

On Friday, lawyers for MJ Schnitt asked for a mistrial, and they were opposed by lawyers for Bubba the Love Sponge.

On Monday, Bubba’s lawyers asked for a mistrial and were contended by MJ’s lawyers. Clems legal team is claiming media coverage of last week’s DUI arrest of one of Schnitt’s lawyers – and allegations from Schnitt’s lawyers that the arrest was a setup by Clem’s legal team – would hurt Bubba’s chances of getting a fair trial.

The judge, so far, hasn’t granted anyone a mistrial.

So as the lawsuit and craziness continues Howard Stern’s decided to voice his support for Bubba:

“I have gone online and read about it,” said Stern. “But I don’t even understand what I’m reading. It seems like one DJ’s upset because Bubba made fun of him but I didn’t hear the broadcast, it sounds like a lot of nonsense. It sounds like a free speech issue. I’m biased towards Bubba. He’s a friend of mine. I like him very much.

I don’t know this other DJ, but things can get heated in these radio wars. It’s sort of not a big deal. I think it sounds like the type of thing that on free speech you can get away with and I think Bubba will be OK and I’m hoping Bubba comes out all right. I’m a Bubba guy. So what am I supposed to do?”
